Initial Hoist Installation
The following sections provide instructions on how to begin the installation of the Prodigy
FlyPipe Studio hoist.

Tools Needed
Snips or a knife (for unpacking)
•
Phillips screwdriver #1 and #2 (various uses)
•
3/8 in hex key (for attaching TwinLine clamp to strut channel)
•
17 mm socket wrench (for fine trim adjustment of TwinLine clamp)
•
Small tool (screwdriver or hex key) with shaft diameter no greater than 5 mm (0.2 in) and
•
length at least 30 mm (1.2 in). (Necessary only if SafeStop device has tripped)
Stands or sawhorses (for resting the hoist on when terminating TwinLines to the drum)
•
Nicopress tool with J groove
•
Prepare the Installation Location
Before you assemble and hang your hoist, you need to identify the install location and attach
strut channel, such as Unistrut, to the building structure.
Attachment points where TwinLine clamps terminate to strut channel must be spaced
•
1.78 m (5 ft 10 in) on center
The attachment point for the motor end TwinLine clamp must be at least

1.25 m (4ft 1 in)from the nearest wall to allow for proper clearance
The attachment point for the non-motor end TwinLine clamp must be at least
•
0.79 m (2 ft 7 in) from the nearest wall to allow for proper clearance
