13 Digital Inputs

The I/Os screen enables you to configure functionality and polarity of the digital
inputs in your application, and to monitor the state of digital inputs
Mode defines the functionality of the digital input or output.

Inversion inverts the polarity of a digital input or output; simply click the

option to invert the polarity.
When Inversion option is set:
Input and Output LEDs in the software change color.

Output LEDs on the Demo Kit change color.

Input LEDs on the Demo Kit do not change except when the switch is

actually toggled between on and off positions.
Exercise - Input as Remote Enable Switch
1. Make sure the drive is disabled.
2. From the ServoStudio navigation sidebar, select I/Os.
The I/Os screen is displayed.
You will see that that all four digital inputs are set to
3. Set Input 1 to 5-Remote Enable.
4. On the Demo Kit, turn on switch IN 1 and observe the effect:
The LED on the Demo Kit input turns green.

The LED graphic on the screen turns green.

The drive becomes enabled.

5. On the Demo Kit, turn off switch IN 1 and observe the effect:
The LED on the Demo Kit input turns red.

The LED graphic on the screen turns red.

The drive becomes disabled.

