Automatic light control
Automatic light function
When the automatic light function
AUTO is switched on, the system
switches on the headlights and
taillights automatically. This function
operates with a short delay in
dependence of lighting conditions.
If the windscreen wipers continue to
operate 8 cycles when it is dark
enough outside, the exterior lamps
will illuminate automatically.
High beam
To switch from low to high beam,
push lever.
To switch to low beam, push lever
again or pull.
9 Warning
Always switch the high beam
headlamps to low beam when you
approach oncoming vehicles or
when other vehicles ahead. High
beam headlamps can temporarily
blind other drivers, which could
result in a collision.
Lighting

Headlight flash
To activate the headlight flash, pull
lever.
Headlights when driving
abroad
The asymmetrical headlight beam
extends visibility at the edge of the
road at the passenger side.
However, when driving in countries
where traffic drives on the opposite
side of the road, adjust the headlights
to prevent dazzling of oncoming
traffic.
Have the headlights adjusted by a
workshop.
Daytime running lights
The Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
illuminate when the following occur:
■ During daylight conditions
■ The engine is running
■ The fog lamps are off
