You connect the IO device to the PROFINET IO system via BusAdapter BA LC/FC.
The node communicates via two ports.
● Port 1 offers the option of connecting an LC connector.
When data is transferred via port 1, it is first sent as a differential signal to the LC transceiver.
It is converted there for optical data transmission and vice versa.
● Port 2 allows the connection of a FastConnect cable.
When data is transmitted via port 2, the differential signals of the base device are output
electrically isolated via the BusAdapter.
The overvoltage protection must be implemented by the base device. The reverse polarity
protection is realized by the BA housing.
Assembling the cable
● You can find information on assembling the FC cables in the section "Pin assignment of the
FC outlet (4-pin connector) (Page 32)".
