8.9. Touch pad or screen or keyboard is stuck

Reboot the POS device and report the problem to our Help Desk.
8.10. Printed 'authorisation failed'
On the 'authorisation failed' receipt, read the detailed error message and reason for decline.
If still unclear, contact our authorisation centre. Please note that declined responses do not
necessarily mean insufficient funds.
If the POS device prints a 'communication failure' receipt and there is no response from the
host, the device will automatically reverse the request, and the reverse message will be sent
the next time the device connects to the host.

8.11. E-receipts

8.11.1. Tap the 'information bar'
This will be sent in the next transaction sent.
8.11.2. Tap the 'information bar'
means the last transaction has a reversal, which will be sent during the next online
transaction. If the customer did not get an email or SMS, log on to the e-receipt online
service and resend.

9. GENERAL BANK CARD RULES

9.1. Card use exceeded: Velocity override
If the card has been used more than two times in five minutes, the POS device will go online for
authorisation.
9.2. Chip card: Europay, Mastercard® and Visa (EMV)
The customer must enter his/her PIN if the POS device prompts for one.
If the chip card has more than one account, then 'select your application' . A chip card can be
a debit or credit card. The chip card may ask to confirm applications; press the green circular
button (O).
Credit accounts
• May not allow Cashback at POS
• May not do a balance
• May or may not ask for a PIN depending if it is a swipe or chip card
Debit accounts
• May allow Cashback at POS
• May do a balance
• May not ask for budget
• Does ask for PIN
