One Cutting Unit Does Not Operate
Cause

Reel drive belt damaged or loose.

Key on reel motor shaft sheared.

Bedknife to reel contact too tight.

Electrical problem.

Faulty solenoid valve on reel motor.

Damaged reel drive motor.
One Cutting Unit Operates Slowly and/or Loses Power in Heavy Cutting
Cause

Cutting unit drive belt slipping.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Bedknife to reel contact too tight.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Inefficient cutting unit drive motor - TEST NO. 5.
One Cutting Unit Will Not Stop Operating
Cause
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Electrical problem.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Solenoid valve sticking.
NOTE: Disconnect affected reel motor solenoid electrical connector and observe results. If cutting unit stops, problem
is electrical. If cutting unit continues to operate, problem is in reel motor valve spool.

Correction
Inspect and adjust or replace belt.
Replace key. Inspect for damaged pulley or motor
shaft.
Adjust bedknife to reel contact.
Check for faulty reel switch on lift arm, solenoid on
reel motor or wiring and repair if necessary.
Inspect and clean solenoid valve and repair or re­
place if necessary.
Check for damaged reel motor and repair or replace
if necessary.
Correction
Inspect belt and adjust or replace belt.
Adjust bedknife to reel contact.
Repair or replace motor.
Correction
Check for faulty reel switch on lift arm, or wiring and
repair if necessary.
Inspect solenoid valve for damage or sticking in on
position and clean or replace valve if necessary.
