6 INSTALLATION OF THE GEARBOX ONTO THE MACHINE

The front flange of the gearbox features 4 nos. tapped holes that allow the unit to be fixed to the driven
machine. Prior to inserting the mounting bolts apply a small quantity of product, type Loctite 243 or
similar, preventing the bolts from coming loose. Use only the recommended type and class of bolts and
tighten all bolts to the torque specified in the chart here under:
LC 050
LC 070
LC 090
LC 120
When fitting a transmission element onto the shaft do not hit this with a hammer nor use
inadequate tooling. Proceed instead as shown below:
Tie rod (1) and washer (2) are not supplied.
In order to optimize bearings' lifetime, when installing transmission elements with an asymmetrical hub
it is recommended to fit them as suggested in the scheme (A) below:

7 TESTING THE GEAR UNIT

Before starting the unit, check that:
The machine incorporating the gear unit complies with the provisions of the " Machinery
Directive" 98/37/EC and any other applicable safety legislation.
The electrical power supply and control systems are suitable and operational as stipulated in
standard EN 60204-1, and grounded as per standard EN 50014.
That there are no visible leaks from the shaft seals nor damages of any nature to the gear unit.
