    Hood. Air entering WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF the PROFLOW FH22 Hood is directed over the top of the head and down the DRUGS, ALCOHOL, OR ANY MEDICA- inner surface of the visor to prevent misting, then inhaled by the wearer.
  • Page 3 Consult a qualified industrial hygienist for advice on the use of the PROFLOW FH22 PAPR Hood in your work environment. Take into consideration that seams and closures often have shorter breakthrough times and higher chemical permeation rates than the fabric alone.
  • Page 4 PROFLOW FH22 Hood from service and tag for repair or replacement as required. Inspect as follows: 1. Inspect the PROFLOW FH22 Hood for any holes or tears in the fabric. 2. Verify that all seams and joints are secure and show no signs of weakening or breakdown.

    BREATHING TUBE ATTACHMENT TO THE HOOD To remove or install a breathing tube on a PROFLOW FH22 Hood, proceed as follows: REMOVAL 1. Grasp the hose from the outside of the hood right where it enters the hood. 2. Turn the hood inside out to access the hose nut on the inside of the hood.
  • Page 6 THE BREATHING TUBE SHROUD A breathing tube shroud is available for the PROFLOW FH22 Hood made of the same material as the hood fabric. The breathing tube shroud is used to facilitate cleaning and/or decontamination of the breathing tube. ATTACH THE BREATHING TUBE SHROUD AS FOLLOWS: 1.
  • Page 7 REMOVE THE BREATHING TUBE SHROUD AS FOLLOWS: 1. The tie wraps are the removable type. On the lock end, press down on the lock release below the cut off end of the tie wrap while pulling the loop open. 2. If desired, the tie wraps may be cut off and replaced with new ones when the breathing tube shroud is replaced.

  • Page 9 8. Locate the breathing tube over the left shoulder while placing the head into the head band of the PROFLOW FH22 Hood. Fit the padded portion of the head band around the fore- WARNING head with the visor window POSITION THE BLOWER ASSEMBLY centered in front of the face.

    Loosen the neck cord by pressing the black button inward as you slide the cord lock away from your chin. b) Roll up the PROFLOW FH22 Hood starting at the bottom rear and proceeding up the back of the neck. See FIGURE 10.
