This MadStad adjustable windshield system is designed to give you touring comfort, but has a quick-release system so you can switch back to just the stock windshield anytime. You can leave your factory windshield in place, it will not get in the way of this MadStad system.

(See image at right.) Then pull out the mirror stem, slide the MadStad quick-release tab bracket under the mirror stem and re-attach. See image below for proper tab orientation. Do the same for the mirror stem on the other side.

STEP 4 – Attach the adjustable brackets to the quick-release base plate. Use the four M6 x 12 screws through the brackets and base plate, then fasten with washers and lock nuts on the back side. Knobs should be inward facing each other as seen in the image below.

Over tightening can damage the rubber well nuts. Adjusting the MadStad Brackets The knob screws release the brackets allowing the windshield to slide and tilt.

PIVOT SCREWS The MadStad mount has a pivot screw on each set of brackets, located near the center of the bottom bracket. A nylon lock nut keeps the screw snugly in place, yet allows the brackets to slide back and forth. It is adjusted at the factory to have a minimum of play yet still allow the brackets to move.

MadStad systems ARE NOT to be adjusted while the vehicle is in motion; you must pull over out of the way of traffic and come to a complete stop before making any changes.
