Also remove the rubber well nuts that the windshield was screwed into. STEP 2: Put the four MadStad plastic shoulder washers in the holes where the rubber well nuts used to be. (See photo below.)

STEP 3: Attach the MadStad adjustable brackets AND the side deflector brackets together to the factory windshield mounting holes. The side deflector brackets go beneath the adjustable windshield brackets (see photo below) and the longer M6 x 20 mm screws are used through those brackets and are fastened on with metal flat washers and nylock nuts behind the factory mounting holes (white arrows in photo at right.) Side Deflectors Your kit came with two acrylic side deflectors that attach to the front of the deflector brackets. Attach the deflectors to the front of the brackets using the M6 x 16 screws with washers and lock nuts as shown below Clutch (left) side deflector as seen from the front of the bike.

Windshield Installation Once your windshield brackets and side deflectors are attached, the shield attaches to the four rubber well nuts as indicated below. Attach the windshield with Phillips truss screws, plastic flat washers and rubber washers as shown below. Pre-install all four screws and washers into the windshield before attaching onto the brackets.
