Step
Use the USB cable to connect the laptop to the VLF HV generator.
Use the supplied Ethernet cable to connect the laptop to the Power Box
(Laptop port).
If you do not want to run the laptop off its battery, connect the laptop to the
Power Box to establish a power supply. To do so, use the connection cable
with the C14G plug.
Connect the PoE cable:
to the Power Box (PD Detector port) and
to PD-TaD 80 (Power Box port)
This is used for power supply and data transmission at the same time.
Connect the tan δ cable:
to the VLF HV generator (PD Detector port) and
to PD-TaD 80 (VLF Generator port).
Connect the HF filter to the HV IN port.

Connect the screen of the HV connection cable to the Screen (HV Cable)
port.
Connect the HV connection cable to the HF filter at the HV IN port.

On the PD-TaD 80, remove the short-circuit cable from ports HV IN and
HV OUT.
Clean the cable termination of the phase to be tested carefully.
Attach the anti-corona hoods of the anti-corona protection device to the
cable termination of the phase to be tested.
Attach a protective ring to the cable termination of the phase to be tested –
directly over the screen.
Important: Ensure that the protective ring does not come into contact with
the screen.
