Section 1 Overview of the Function

1.1 What is the Radar Image LAN Distribution Function?

The radar image LAN distribution function distributes the radar images that are generated by partially
processing the signals under the display unit to which a scanner is connected via the dedicated JRC
LAN and enables the display of the images on the display unit on the receiving side. This function
realizes simple interswitching.
Memo
• Dedicated LAN is necessary to use the radar image LAN distribution function and the function
cannot be shared with general-purpose LAN to which a PC is connected or sensor data LAN.
• A STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) cable graded category 5e or higher is necessary as the LAN
cable to be used by the radar image LAN distribution function.
• To connect three or more radars or a navigation information display, SENSOR LAN unit
NQA-2443A, which is available as a JRC option, is necessary.
• Up to eight display units (masters) that are controlling scanners are allowed to participate in the
network.
More than eight display units (slaves) are allowed to participate in the network if they are not
controlling scanners even if the scanners are connected.
• A navigation information display is classified as a "display unit without scanner" in the followig
description.
