Application

SICAM P850/P855 devices acquire measurands at all
voltage levels of power systems according to the
IEC 61000-4-30 standard. The communication inter-
faces enable the measurands to be forwarded to a PC
and to the control center or to be displayed on an
optional display. Moreover, the SICAM P855 device
records operating and power quality measurands in
parameterizable time intervals with diverse recorders
(e.g. measurement recorder). Long-term data and
events are analyzed and output as report according to
power quality standards (for example EN 50160). An
internal 2 GB memory serves for data storage.
The measurements are obtained from the alternating
quantities of current and voltage supplied to the AC
inputs. Without using external voltage and current
transformers, the device can measure rated input AC
voltages up to V
and V
P-P
input AC currents up to 5 A.
For communication and the transfer of measurands to
the control centre and to other systems for process
automation, an Ethernet interface and optionally an
RS485 interface is available. For Ethernet, IEC 61850-
Server or Modbus TCP is used as protocol. For serial
communication, Modbus RTU or IEC 60870-5-103 is
used. Via the IEC 61850 protocol, the device also sup-
ports the representation of measurands with
SICAM PQS and SICAM Analyzer.
The integrated Web server allows the user to configure
the parameters with HTML pages using a Web
browser. In the case of devices with a display, a
restricted parameterization via 4 softkeys is possible on
the display page.
