3.6 Checking the Service Operation Status

Purpose
This topic describes how to check the service operation status on a equipment to ensure
that the services are working properly.
Steps
1. Check the OSPF neighbor status.
2. Check the IS-IS neighbor status.
3. Check the BGP neighbor status.
4. Check routing information.
Reference Standards
1. Run the show ip ospf neighbor command to check the OSPF neighbor status.
In normal situations, all OSPF neighbors should be in the "FULL" status, and DRothers
are in the "2-way" status. Otherwise, it is necessary to find out the cause.
For example:
ZXR10#show ip ospf neighbor
Neighbor ID
98.98.98.98
2. Run the show isis adjacency command to check the IS-IS neighbor status.
In normal situations, all IS-IS neighbors should be in the "UP" status. Otherwise, it is
necessary to find out the cause immediately and need troubleshooting.
For example:
ZXR10(config)#show isis adjacency
Process ID: 0
Interface
vlan100
3. Run the show bgp all summary command to check the BGP neighbor status.
In normal situations, all BGP neighbors should be in the "Establish" status. Otherwise,
it is necessary to find out the cause immediately and need troubleshooting in
accordance with the related guidance.
For example:
ZXR10#show bgp all summary
