Before taking the posts, the maintenance personnel should be well trained, grasp the
knowledge related to the equipment and the networks, have serious working attitude
and professional maintenance skills. They need to improve the maintenance skills
through continuous learning.. During maintenance operations, the maintenance per-
sonnel must follow the instructions described in the related manuals of the product.

The maintenance personnel should take the related suggestions in this manual to do
routine checks and tests and to make records.
l When the maintenance personnel have any question during maintenance, they should
record detailed original information and then contact the ZTE customer service center
or the local ZTE office.
l
The maintenance personnel must not install, run or copy any other software not related
to maintenance operations on the maintenance terminals. Otherwise, there may be
an unexpected result.
Other Notes
Observe the following precautions.
l
Check spare components regularly to ensure that they are sufficient in quantity and are
in good condition, and make sure that the components are not affected by dampness
or mould. Keep them away from the faulty components removed during maintenance.
Mark the faulty components to distinguish them. Supplement the spare components
in time when they are used up.
l
Keep ready the regularly used tools and meters, including screwdrivers (flathead
and crosshead), signaling tester, network cable pliers, multi-meter, AC power for
maintenance, telephone line, and network cables. Test and calibrate the instruments
and meters periodically to ensure their accuracy.
l
Keep the software and documents that might be used during maintenance in a handy
place.
l
If any emergency, the maintenance personnel must be calm and need to perform
troubleshooting in accordance with the related flows of the ZXR10 5900E product,
and contact the customer service center or the local ZTE office immediately.

In accordance with the maintenance period, routine maintenance is classified into four
types.

Daily maintenance: maintenance performed every day

Monthly maintenance: maintenance performed once a month
l
Quarterly maintenance: maintenance performed once a quarter
l Yearly maintenance: maintenance performed once a year
