5. Test the discrimination function. Set both the
"SENS" and "DISC" knobs to the middle po-
sition.Sweep the three metal samples 8 to
10cm above the search coil respectively (note
that the samples should be swept out of the
search coil edge).When sweeping the pull-tab
and silver coin, the unit will be respond,and
the LED will flash of white light,the buzzer
will sound tones.When sweeping iron nail, the
unit won't respond or sound a short "KOKO"
tone.It means the iron nail has been rejected.
6. Set the "SENS" knob to the middle position,and
set "DISC" knob to the maximum clockwise
position. Sweep the three metal samples 8
to 10cm above the search coil respectively
(note that the samples should be swept out
of the search coil edge).When sweeping the
silver coin, the unit will be respond,and the
LED will flash of white light,the buzzer will
sound tones.When sweeping pull-tab and iron
nail,the unit won't respond or sound a short
"KOKO"tone.It means the pull-tab and iron
nail have been rejected.
Note: when setting a higher sensitivity,and the metal samples are closer from the search
coil,even if rotate the discrimination knob to the max position.Ferrous metals,such as iron
nail,soda bottle caps sweeping above the search coil,often can not completely be rejected.
The buzzer will sound a broken tone,and the LED flash a light for a short time.This kind of
appearance is normal.If the distance between the search coil and the metal samples goes
larger,and the detector sensitivity turns down,the signal will usually disappear.
7. Test the sensitivity adjusting function. Sweeping the silver coin above the search coil
at different height. At the mean time, adjust the sensitivity knob from low to high,the
maximum height that the detector detected will become larger accordingly.
