To release steering wheel lock:
• Open and close driver's door and
switch on accessory mode or
start the engine directly.
Warning
If the vehicle battery is
discharged, the vehicle must not
be flat-towed or push started as
the steering wheel lock cannot be
disengaged.

Starting the engine

Vehicles with ignition switch
1. Apply the park brake firmly.
2. Turn the key to position 1 while
moving the steering wheel
slightly to release the lock.
Manual transmission: Push the
clutch pedal to the floor and
move the shift lever to the
neutral position.
Automatic transmission: Move
the shift lever to P or N.
Do not operate the accelerator
pedal.
Driving and operating
3. Turn the key to position 3.
4. Release the key when the engine
is running.
Before restarting or to switch
the engine off, turn key back to
position 0.
Caution
Do not keep the key in position 3
for more than 10 seconds.
If the engine does not start, wait
10 seconds before trying again.
