Conditions of Safe Use (controlled by Eaton draw-
ing 464-1025)
The following conditions apply to the installation, operation
and maintenance of the assessed equipment. Failure to
observe these may compromise the safety integrity of the
assessed equipment:
The user shall comply with the requirements given in
•
the manufacturer's user documentation in regard to all
relevant functional safety aspects such as application of
use, installation out of hazardous areas, operation, main-
tenance, proof tests, maximum ratings, environmental
conditions, and repair.
Selection of this equipment for use in safety functions,
•
configuration, overall validation, maintenance and repair
shall only be carried out by trained, competent person-
nel, observing all the manufacturer's conditions and rec-
ommendations in the user documentation.
All information associated with any field failures of this
•
product should be collected under a dependability man-
agement process (e.g., IEC 60300-3-2) and reported to
the manufacturer.
The C445 motor management relay shall only be
•
installed in a non-hazardous area. It shall only be net-
worked with a secure plant intranet. It must require nec-
essary authorization to avoid unauthorized operation.
The automatic restart shall not be configured for auto-
•
matic reset to avoid spurious trips due to un-cleared
faults. The automatic reset mode will not be allowed and
manual reset is required.
The external communication devices ( example Master
•
PLC, repeater, gateway etc. ) shall be SIL 1 or better if
user wants to achieve safety integrity for C445XX-E and
C445XX-P offered safety function.
In collaboration with the manufacturer the user/installer
•
shall ensure that the construction of the final installation
is safe and the selection of the hazardous area equip-
ment is acceptable, refer to Condition of Certification
clause UL certificate.
