Interrogating control unit version
Vehicles are equipped with different generation
types of the convenience system control unit,
which in turn have different fault messages,
measured value blocks and adaptation. To de-
termine the control unit type interrogate the con-
trol unit identification number on the fault reader
and then find this control unit in the list of con-
trol units ⇒ page 01-48.1. The table states the
date and series number of the control unit gen-
eration. This information will further determine
the repair procedure.
- Connect fault reader V.A.G 1552 and select
the control unit for central locking ⇒ page
01-46.
