Configuring the BTV to make calls through the BT
Broadband Voice service
The BT Versatility can be set up in a number of ways to allow the user to make calls out on an IP
trunk. The three most common ways making calls over an IP trunk are:
Selecting an IP trunk
Selecting an outgoing group containing the IP trunks
Setting up Least Cost Routing (LCR)

Making a VoIP call by selecting an IP trunk

When dialing from a V8 or V16 featurephone an IP trunk can be selected by programming one of
the program keys as an IP trunk. This is carried out as follows:
• From your featurephone press the PROGRAMME key
• Select 'Key programming'.
• Select the Programmable Key you want to programme.
• Press the Scroll Down Key ( ) until 'Line' is displayed and select.
• Press the Scroll Down Key ( ) until 'IP Trunk 1' and 'IP Trunk 2' is displayed
• Select the required trunk to be programmed on the key.
• Select 'Confrim'
Press the Hands-free Key to finish programming.

Making a VoIP call by selecting an Outgoing Group

Calls are placed on VoIP trunks using the enbloc mode of dialing, all the digits are sent together
to the network when the last digit has been dialed.
When dialing from a V8 or V16 featurephone dial the line access code 760, as the IP trunks are
located in Line group 2, and enter the digits without going off hook or selecting a line key.
Note:
When dialling over an IP trunk the full number, including the area code, must be
dialled.
When all the digits are entered press the 'Send Digits ' key. The digits are then immediately sent
to line. there is still a delay before the digits are sent unless a # is dialled.
