INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTION
ECO16FR thermostat is mounted as the cover of a 1-component mounting box or as a part of a multiple-
component instrument panel.

1. BEFORE INSTALLATION

1.1 Check that all the parts and tools needed for the installation are available. This package contains a
thermostat, an adjustment knob, a lid, a covering plate, an additional connector for earth wires, a sensor
cable and this installation instruction.
1.2 Check that the heating load is equivalent to the thermostat power endurance.
1.3 Check the insulation resistance and the circuit resistance of the heating load controlled by the ther-
mostat.
2. INSTALLATION, FIGURES 1, 2 AND 4
2.1 Place the sensor cable in a dry protective tube between the heating cables (floor heating solutions).
NOTE! Make sure that there is not water in the protective tube.
2.2 Connect the earth wires (PE) to the separate connector.
2.3 Connect the thermostat according to the figures 1 and 2. Connect the control of the temperature
change to the ΔT- marked connector. Any phase can be used to control the temperature change. The ther-
mostat has spring connectors and the wires should be stripped at the length of 9 mm. The conductors can
be disconnected from spring connectors by twisting and pulling at the same time. In floor or ceiling heat-
ing installations a residual circuit breaker has to be used according to the local installation regulations.
2.4 Mount the thermostat into the mounting box with screws.
2.5 Mount the thermostat lid, cover plate and adjustment knob. Cover the thermostat from potential dust
during construction.
3. START-UP AND OPERATION, FIGURES 3, 5 ... 9
3.1 Adjust the heating control mode with the adjustment screw E (figure 3). In the F mode (=floor) the
heating is controlled by floor temperature. The floor temperature setting is defined with the adjustment
knob G (figure 5). In the R mode (=room) the heating is controlled by the room temperature and the floor
sensor is not needed. The room temperature setting is defined with the adjustment knob G. When the
adjustment screw E is turned to F or R mode the blue signal light C blinks once to indicate the change of
the control mode. Between these two control modes the heating is controlled by the room temperature
and the position of the adjustment screw E defines the maximum temperature of the floor. If the tempera-
ture of the floor rises higher than the set value, the blue signal light C blinks four times in a minute for
warning and the load is switched off until the temperature is low enough. This control mode is designed
