    CCAUTIO The WMS WebControl is for indoor use only. It is not water-proof. The operating range of radio remote controls is limited both by legal regula- tions for radio systems and structural factors. Adequate radio reception must be ensured when planning the project.

    3 Tntroduction 3.1 Functions  Using WMS WebControl, you can comfortably operate WMS products on a mobile device from your home using your own WLAN network.  Separate apps are available for iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad, and for Android devices (smartphone, tablet).

    The WMS WebControl is supplied with power via the included plug-in power supply unit ➍. Connect the USB power supply unit ➍ to the WMS WebControl ➊ using the included USB cable. Connect the WMS WebControl ➊ with the locally configured router ➎ via the included LAN cable ➌.

    4.1 Commissioning via the WMS studio software A comfortable method of loading new projects to the WMS WebControl is made available by the WMS studio software as of version 2.0.0 (see the "WMS studio software" software manual, art. no. 890396). You will require an SD card with the format FAT32.

    If this procedure is not successful on your Smartphone and/or PC, the web address of the WMS WebControl was not recognised by your router. In this case, open the client table of your router (use the router manual for this pur- pose).

    Configuration WMS WebControl 5.2 Creating and editing rooms Click on the "+" button to create rooms. A window appears in which you can enter the name of the room (for exam- ple, "Living room"). Click "Create". The room is then created and appears in the left column of the menu.

    Configuration In this way, you can create a total of 20 rooms of 10 channels or scenes each. A maximum of 32 scenes can be created (with the numbers 0 to 31). Follow the instructions step-by-step. Always create a room first so that you can then (as described below) create the associated channels.

Never use the same scene number for different transmitters (e.g. WMS Hand- held transmitter and WMS WebControl) in combination with the same plug receivers (you would overwrite the first scene).     The WMS Hand-held transmitter must be within radio range of the WMS WebCon- trol. In the WMS WebControl, go to the "Configuration" menu and select the de- sired channel (e.g. Roller shutter 1) in the corresponding room (e.g. Kitchen). Wake up your WMS Hand-held transmitter, for example, by pressing any product button.

    When the "CLOUD" limit value is undercut, the sun shading products are raised. If the "SUN" limit value is adjusted via WMS WebControl (or via the WMS Hand-held transmitter), the "CLOUD" limit value will always change automati- cally as well (60% of the "SUN" limit value).

In the "Operation" menu, the (①) buttons activate and deactivate the control modes for all rooms with the channels created there that the WMS WebControl knows.

  • Page 26 Switching times WMS WebControl The time switch lets you define up to four different switching times per day in the "Settings" menu. Depending on the channel (i.e. awning, external venetian blind, etc.), you can set positions and/or inclination angles at each switching time that meet your personal comfort requirements.

    Make sure that the IP address you assign lies within the router's subnet mask. Save this file on an SD card. Insert the SD card into the SD slot of the WMS WebControl before connect- ing the USB cable. Plug in the power supply unit.

    Tnternet WMS devices can only be operated on the home network. Access via the Internet is not supported by WMS WebControl. However, access is possible using appropriate routers via VPN (e.g. Fritz!Box by AVM: www.avm.de). 10.1 What is VPO? VPN access (VPN = Virtual Private Network) authorises the mobile device to access the local network from the Internet.
