Operation of the recording function

The following shows the operation of the recording function.
Starting the operation
To start the operation of the recording function, perform either of the following operations:
Data can be sampled after starting the operation.
• Switch a CPU module from STOP to RUN.
• Start the operation of the recording function in the "Recording Monitor" screen.
*1 The operating statuses for all written recording settings switch to 'preparing,' then 'operating' after the preparation is completed.
*2 The operating status for a target recording setting switches to 'preparing,' then 'operating' after the preparation is completed.
Data is sampled by a CPU module while the recording function is running even if data is not accumulated by a
recorder module. Therefore, the END processing time is extended at a sampling timing.
Effect of the recording function on the END processing time can be checked in the "Recording Status Detailed
Information" screen of the recording monitor. (Page 67 Recording Status Detailed Information Screen)
Precautions
• The recording function starts running after preparation; therefore, it takes time to be ready to sample data.
• When selecting "File Saving Trigger Only" for the recording method, data sampling and accumulation start when the
operating status switches to 'operating.'
• When selecting "Recording Startup Trigger + File Saving Trigger" for the recording method, data sampling starts when the
operating status switches to 'operating' and data accumulation starts when a recording startup trigger is satisfied.
Stopping the operation
To stop the operation of the recording function, perform any of the following operations:
• Switch a CPU module from RUN to STOP.
• Switch a CPU module to PAUSE.
• Stop the operation of the recording function in the "Recording Monitor" screen.
*1 The operating statuses for all recording settings switch to 'stopped.'
*2 When the operating status for a recording setting is 'saving' or 'saving trigger establishment,' data sampling and accumulation stop and
the operating status switches to 'stopped' after file saving is completed.
*3 When the operating status for a recording setting is 'saving trigger establishment,' data sampling and accumulation stop and the
operating status switches to 'saving' then 'stopped.'
Precautions
A CPU module stops data sampling and a recorder module stops data accumulation. Data sampled and accumulated before
the stop is discarded. If there is sampled and accumulated data, they are recommended to be saved by satisfying a file saving
trigger before stop operation.
Starting to save a recording file
When starting to save a recording file, satisfy a file saving trigger. (Page 21 File saving trigger)
After the file saving trigger is satisfied, a recorder module outputs data accumulated in the recording buffer and saves it to an
SD memory card. (Page 38 Recording buffer)
