: Remove grommet (1) and
examine it, replace if necessary.
– Reassemble in the reverse
sequence.
: Press lugs (arrows) on shroud (1)
into rubber grommets.
Ensure that the stud bolt contacts
the slotted screw.
– Screw slotted nut on as far as
possible.
– Reassemble all other parts in the
reverse sequence.

Cylinder

Before removing the cylinder,
decide whether or not the
crankshaft has to be removed.
With cylinder installed

The crankshaft must be prevented
from twisting by blocking the piston
in order to remove the flywheel and
clutch.
With cylinder removed
To remove the flywheel and clutch,
the crankshaft must be blocked by
resting the piston on the wooden
assembly block.
– Remove shroud, b 8.4.
– Remove fan housing,
b 10.2.
– Remove spacer flange,
b 14.2.
– Remove carburetor, b 14.3.

– Remove intake elbow,
b 14.6.3.
– Remove muffler, b 8.1.
– Remove decompression valve,
b 8.9.
– Pull boot off spark plug and
remove spark plug, b 6.
– Remove front handle, b 11.5
Machines with handle heating,
b 11.5.1.
: Pull off grommet (1).

: Pull impulse hose (1) off
connector (arrow).
: Take out socket head screws
(arrows).
