Chain lubrication

13.1

Pick-up body

Impurities gradually clog the fine
pores of the filter with minute
particles of dirt. This prevents the oil
pump from supplying sufficient oil to
the bar and chain. In the event of
problems with the oil supply system,
first check the oil tank and the pick-
up body. Clean the oil tank if
necessary.
– Troubleshooting chart, b 4.3.
– Unscrew oil tank cap and drain
oil tank.
Collect chain oil in a clean container
and dispose of it in accordance with
environmental regulations.

: Pull pick-up body (1) out of oil
tank with assembly hook (2)

Take care not to overstretch the
suction hose.

– Hold suction hose (2).
: Pull pick-up body (1) off suction
hose.

– Rinse oil tank.
– Fit a new pick-up body.
: Push pick-up body (1) into
suction hose (2) and return it to
the oil tank.
– Reassemble all other parts in the
reverse sequence.
13.2

Oil suction hose

– Remove chain sprocket cover,
bar and chain, b 5.
– Remove clutch, b 6.
– Remove oil pump, b 13.3.
– Unscrew oil tank cap and drain oil
tank.
Collect chain oil in a clean container
and dispose of it in accordance with
environmental regulations.
: Prise out oil suction hose (1) and
pull it out.
– Examine oil suction hose and
pick-up body, replace if
necessary. Installation of pick-up
body, b 13.1.

: Slide oil suction hose (1) through
opening in housing (arrow) with
the pick-up body first.
