Crankshaft and crankcase
Fit the crankshaft in the crankcase half on
the fl ywheel side.
Place a new crankcase gasket in position.
Fit the crankcase half on the starter side.
Tighten the 4 crankcase screws cross-
wise.

Fit the fuel tank, impact guard and guard
screen onto the crankcase.
Assemble the piston.
Screw the heat guard (B) into place.
Attach the fl ywheel.

Use a hot air gun to gently warm the inner
ring of the ball bearing on the crankcase
half of the fl ywheel side.
Lubricate the shaft pin with a few drops of
oil and push carefully into the crankshaft
in the ball bearing.
NOTE!
Do not hit the shaft pin with a
hammer in order to position the
crankshaft in the ball bearing.
Check the 3 guide sleeves are in their
place in the crankcase half on the starter
side.
Place a new crankcase gasket on the
crankcase and secure if necessary with a
little grease.
Lubricate the crankshaft journal with a few
drops of oil and slide the crankcase half
on the starter side into position.
Tighten the 4 crankcase screws crosswise
a little at a time.
Check that the crankshaft can rotate
easily.
If they are not then tap the shaft pin gently
to release the strain.
Fit the fuel tank and impact guard under
the crankcase.
Screw the guard screen (A) onto the
crankcase.
Assemble the piston on the connecting
rod.
NOTE!
Place a cloth under the piston to
prevent the circlips from falling
down into the crankcase.
Check that the piston is turned so the ar-
row points towards the exhaust port.
Do not forget the spacers between the
piston and the needle bearing!
Make sure that the gudgeon pin circlips
are seated correctly in the slots.
Screw the heat guard (B) in place on top
of the fuel tank. Make sure it is inserted
into the slot on the crankcase.
Place the fl ywheel key in position in the
crankcase keyway so that the fl at surface
is parallel to the centre line of the crank-
shaft.
Attach the fl ywheel.
