MOUNTING THE STEERING ASSIST MANIFOLD Smartrax Valve Mount the Steering Assist Manifold to the bracket using the provided bolts and hole pattern. Be sure that the A, B, & T ports of the valve face forward when the bracket is in place on the machine.
MOUNTING THE LINEAR STEERING POSITION SENSOR (SPS) Mount SPS to either the left or right steering cylinder on the machine using the supplied brackets. Remove the bolts holding the steering cylinder. Place bracket on mount and insert bolt through bracket and tighten as shown in pictures. Tighten SPS mounting screws in the outside hole in the mounting bracket.
CONNECTING “P” AND “EF” HOSES Locate the Steering Control Unit (SCU). This is under the cab of the sprayer. Locating the Sprayer SCU Disconnect the original “P” hose from the “P” port on the SCU. Disconnecting the original “P” hose from “P” port on the SCU...
Route the disconnected end of the original “P” hose back towards Steering Assist Manifold. Connect the original “P” hose to the “P” port on the Steering Assist Manifold. Connecting the original “P” hose to the “P” port on the Steering Assist Manifold CONNECTING THE SUPPLIED “EF”...
CONNECTING LEFT AND RIGHT HOSES Locate the original “L” and “R” hoses at the front of the tractor. Original “L” and “R” hoses Disconnect the original “L” and “R” hoses from the tractor’s left and right tee fittings as shown below.

Reconnect the original “R” hose to the opposite end of the supplied right tee connector. Connect the supplied “R” hose (P/N 214-1000-100) to the branch end of the supplied right tee connector. Connect the supplied “L” hose (P/N 214-1000-096) to the branch end of the supplied left tee connector.

Continue routing the supplied “L” and “R” hoses along the LHS of the chassis, towards the Steering Assist Manifold. Routing supplied “L” and “R” hoses towards the Steering Assist Manifold Connect the “L” hose to port “A” on the steering control valve. Connect the “R”...
CONNECTING T HOSES Locate the tractor tank. This is on the RHS of the tractor. Disconnect the original T hose from the tractor tank. Tank Connection Disconnecting the original T hose from the tractor tank Connect the run end of a supplied tee connector (3/4” JIC) to the tank. Reconnect the original T hose to the opposite run end of the tee connector.
START-UP PROCEDURES After installing the SmarTrax on your machine, always follow these start-up procedures. Make sure the Steering Position Sensor does not over-extend or over-compress when turning the wheels. Turn the wheels fully from side to side numerous times to remove air from the hydraulic system.

How Can I Get Service? Bring the defective part and proof of purchase to your Raven Dealer. If your Dealer agrees with the warranty claim, the Dealer will send the part and proof of purchase to their distributor or to Raven Industries for final approval.
