Using Assist/Control

Using Assist/Control
In Assist/Control mode (A/C), the patient may trigger the
controlled ventilator breaths within a time period (trigger
window). Ventilator breaths will then be synchronized
with the patient's inspiratory effort!
NOTE: In this mode, the resulting ventilation rate is higher
than that set on the ventilator.
Ventilator breaths are automatically applied at the set rate
if there is no patient inspiratory effort.
Set ventilation initially as described for CMV mode,
pages 29, 30.
Then:

1 Press »
Info« key to obtain the display:
CMV
A/C.
g
2 Press »
Reset« to confirm and Assist/Control mode
is applied by the ventilator.
The maximum inspiratory time is always limited to 1.3
seconds. The following alarm message appears if the
measured rate exceeds the set frequency by more than
50 %:
