Setting the Jumpers

On the Remote Indicator there is a failsafe jumper and a write protect jumper behind the display on
the Communication Module. The top jumper is the failsafe jumper. The bottom jumper sets the
write protect.
Since the Remote Indicator is intended to be used in Digital Multidrop mode only it is highly
recommended to put the failsafe jumper to DOWN (Downscale). This drives the current to 3.8mA
in a fault situation and during startup. (Default Setting).
An UP (Upscale) failsafe setting drives the current to 21.8mA which is NOT recommended,
causing potential issues during startup when multiple devices are connected to the Enraf FlexLine
Gauge.
For the write protect jumper the default setting is OFF (unprotected). When set to the ON
(protected) position, changed configuration parameters cannot be written to the Remote Indicator.
When set to the OFF (unprotected) position, changed configuration parameters can be written to
the Remote Indicator.
The following procedure outlines the steps for positioning the jumpers on the electronics module.
See figure 14 for the location of the jumpers.
