that allows it to print like one of the printers in the
list. Look in the documentation that came with
your printer to find information on emulation
modes. Then select the name of one of the printers
it can emulate in this list.

If you purchased a computer that came with a
CD-ROM drive, insert the IBM Aptiva Multimedia
Exploration CD into the CD-ROM drive.

Click on Install.

Click on OK in the window that tells you that the
printer driver was "...successfully installed...".

In the "Create a Printer" window, verify that an
icon with the name of the printer driver you
selected now appears in the "Default printer
driver" box (you may have to scroll through the list
to see it), and click on the icon to select it. If the
icon does not appear, repeat steps 4 through 9.
Most fax software packages allow you to set the fax
modem as the default printer. If your computer came
with a fax modem and fax software installed, you must
set the fax modem as the default printer while you are

change the default printer back to your printer. For more

After you click on the icon for your printer, click on
LPT1 in the "Output Port" box.

The computer automatically uses the name "My
New Printer" when it refers to your printer. You can

change this name. For example, in the "Name"
box, delete "MY New Printer" and type a name for
the printer you purchased.

Click on Create to finish installing the printer
driver in OS/2 Warp.

If a window appears that asks if you want to
"...install an equivalent Win-OS/2 printer driver...",
click on No. To print from any Windows program,
see "Installing a printer driver for Windows
Programs" on page 17.

The printer driver is copied, and the "Create a
Printer" window closes. An icon with the name you
typed is added to the OS/2 Warp Desktop for the
printer. (The icon may be hidden behind one of the
open windows on the desktop.)
The following steps set the new printer as the default
printer for OS/2 Warp.
14.
From the desktop, double-click on the icon for your
printer.
15.
The printer window appears. Click on the printer
icon in the upper left corner of the window.
16.
Click on Set default, then click on the name of
your printer.
17.
Double-click on the printer icon in the upper left
corner of the window to close the printer window.
