4.2

Replace brush rings

Carry out maintenance, repair work and
modiications on the Gigant sweeping machine only
if the hydraulic drive is switched off and hydraulic
connections are disconnected. Secure the carrier
vehicle against unintended start-up, movement and
sinking!
Do not go beneath or work under a raised machine.
Always secure the opened collector vessel
ATTENTION
by twisting the tap. Additional mechanical
safeguarding against closing of the vessel is
necessary.
Replace brush rings only when the sweeping
ATTENTION
machine is attached to the carrier vehicle.

4.2.1 Brush shaft, internal motor

The safety instructions from Chapter 4.2 apply.
• Lift the sweeping machine (approx. 200 mm) and open
the collector vessel.
Secure the sweeping machine and carrier vehicle
against unintended restart, sagging and movement!
• Close the tap (1) for the drainage cylinder (must point
toward the rear castor wheels).
• Put the raster lever system (2) in the lowest position on
both sides.
• Lower the sweeping machine until the complete brush
shaft is lying on the loor.
Turn off the pressure on the hydraulic lines of

the sweeping machine in the carrier vehicle.

ATTENTION
against unintended restart, sagging and
movement!
• Loosen the fastening nuts (3) of the engine guard (4)
and remove them.
• Remove the retaining screws (5) of the motor bearer (6).
The engine guard and the motor bearer

screws must be removed on both sides.
