2 Safety

This operating manual contains fundamental instructions
that must be observed during the attachment, operation and
maintenance. Thus, the personnel must read this operating
manual under all circumstances before operation and
commissioning. The personnel must always have access to
the manual.
Safety notices that must be followed include not only the
general safety notices in this section on safety, but also the
speciic safety notices that are included in other sections.
2.1 Labelling of notices in the operating
manual
The safety notices in this operating manual whose non-
observance is hazardous for persons are marked with the
general danger symbol:
Safety symbol according to DIN ISO 9244
When warning about injuries resulting
from squashing
When warning about injuries resulting
from cuts
Safety notices whose non-observance create hazards for the
machine and its functionality have the word
attached.
Notices are labelled as follows:
Safety signs that are directly attached to the machine must
deinitely be adhered to and must be kept in a fully legible
state.
2.2 Qualiication and training of personnel
The Gigant sweeping machine must only be used, serviced
and maintained by persons that are familiar with the machine
and are informed about its dangers. The area of responsibility,
competence and the supervision of the personnel must
be directed in detail by the operator. If the personnel does
not have the necessary knowledge, it must be trained and
instructed. Furthermore, the operator must ensure that the
personnel fully understands the contents of the operating
manual.
Maintenance work that is not described in this operating
manual must only be conducted by authorised qualiied
workshops.
