Gently turn the scale over so that the pan support
is on the bottom; place it on a soft surface.
Use an appropriate tool, such as a pair of side
nippers, to sever the cable retainers.
Detach the display and control unit from the
base-mounted display flange.
Use a 7-mm open-end wrench to remove the
4 hexagonal nuts and then remove the display
flange from the base plate. Save the screws
for installation.
Attach the column retainer to the base plate in
place of the display flange. There are two sets of
bore holes on the column retainer, 10 mm apart,
so you can adapt the distance between the
column and the base plate to your requirements.
