Eco-friendly driving tips

For improved fuel economy and reduced CO
attention to the following points:

Using Eco drive mode

When using Eco drive mode, the torque corresponding to the accel-
erator pedal depression amount can be generated more smoothly
than it is in normal conditions. In addition, the operation of the air
conditioning system (heating/cooling) will be minimized, improving
the fuel economy. (P. 218, 224)

Use of Eco Driving Indicator

Vehicles without multi-information display
The Eco-friendly driving is possible by keeping the Eco Driving Indi-
cator Light on. (P. 119)
Vehicles with multi-information display

cator Light on and keeping the bar display of the Eco Driving Indica-
tor shown in the multi-information display within the Zone of Eco
driving. (P. 119)

Accelerator pedal/brake pedal operation

Drive your vehicle smoothly. Avoid abrupt acceleration and deceler-
ation. Gradual acceleration and deceleration will help reduce
excessive fuel consumption.
When braking
Observe conditions in front of and around the vehicle, and estimate
your stopping position. Release the accelerator pedal early and
continue coasting. Use the brake pedal to adjust your stopping
position. Make sure to operate the brake pedal gently.
Delays
Repeated acceleration and deceleration, as well as long waits at
traffic lights, will lead to bad fuel economy. Check traffic reports
before leaving and avoid delays as much as possible.
