Installing the Instrument
1. Locate the PURGE fittings on the right side
of the TMA instrument (see Figure 2.13).
Use of an explosive gas as a purge gas is
dangerous and is not recommended for
the TMA instrument. For a list of the
gases that can be used in the TMA, see
Chapter 3.
Use of corrosive gases will shorten the life of the
instrument.
2. Make sure that the pressure of your purge
source does not exceed the manufacturer's
recommended pressures for flowmeters and
other regulated devices you are using.
The purge gas flows through the instrument
and is channeled internally to the sample
purge line shown in the figure on the next
page.
