Remote Configuration of the INSYS Modem 336 LL 2D/4D
5.x Originate / Answer
Perform the remote configuration
In the following, we show how to configure the INSYS Modem 336 LL
2D/4D 5.x Originate / Answer remotely.
You will need a PC which is connected to one of the two INSYS Modem 336
LL 2D/4D 5.x Originate / Answer at the leased line, via the serial interface.
The INSYS Modem 336 LL 2D/4D 5.x Originate / Answer must already have
a data connection to the remote terminal established. The POWER LED, the
DCD LED and the OH LED light up.
You will need a terminal program.
1.
Open your terminal program.

Open the serial interface, to which the INSYS Modem 336 LL 2D/4D 5.x
Originate / Answer is connected.

Enter **** (four asterisks). This will switch you into remote maintenance
mode.
If you set a password, you will now need to enter it.
After you successfully entered the password, the INSYS Modem 336 LL
2D/4D 5.x Originate / Answer will send a prompt in form of an ">".
You can now configure the INSYS Modem 336 LL 2D/4D 5.x Originate / An-
swer remotely.
Some AT commands are not available in remote maintenance mode. The
AT commands are ATA, ATD, ATO, AT&F, AT/B.
Complete the remote configuration by entering AT*E.

The INSYS Modem 336 LL 2D/4D 5.x Originate / Answer is now in the nor-
mal data connection mode. You can now exchange data between your local
modem and the INSYS Modem 336 LL 2D/4D 5.x Originate / Answer, or
terminate the connection.
Enter **** to re-initiate a remote configuration.
