    3. Receiving the product 3.1 Transporting the product When transporting and handling the pit at low temperatures, take into consideration that the pit impact resistance is reduced. The pit must be transported in a horizontal position and anchored to the transport vehicle. Accessories, if any, must be secured inside the pit.

    Fig. 20 Pit with side-mounted vent pipe 4.7 Installing a retrofitted inlet A retrofitted inlet must be installed according to Grundfos instructions. The inlet must always be above the start level of the pump to prevent sedimentation in the inlet pipe.

    Do not exceed the maximum load. Maintain the chain according to local regulations. We recommend that you check chains and shackles supplied by Grundfos at least once a year for cracks, corrosion or other irregularities. If you find any defects, replace the chain or shackles.

    - Before starting any work on the product, make sure that the power supply has been switched off and that it cannot be accidentally switched on. Do not install Grundfos control boxes and the free end of the supply cable inside the pumping station. 7.1 Installing the cables Lead the cables for the level switches and the pump into the pit through a cable entry in the side of the pit.

    8. Product introduction 8.1 Product description Grundfos pumping stations are prefabricated pumping stations for collection and pumping of wastewater. The pumping stations come as complete, assembled units ready for installation. The pumps are lowered into the pit when the pit has been installed.
