A pair of springs causes the hook to close automatically. The maximum
gripping width is approximately 100 mm (4 in.). This enables the patient to
grip large and cumbersome objects.
The pair of springs can be used to select two levels of grip force. If the
spring lever is set proximally, the grip force is lower (Fig. 1, item A). This
setting is intended for ordinary everyday use. It enables the patient to use
less energy while working.
If the spring lever is set distally, the grip force is higher (Fig. 2, item A).
The recess in the area between both branches can be used for anchoring
oblong objects, such as a file without a handle (Fig. 3, item A).
2.1 Maintenance and Repair
The MovoHook 2Grip does not require maintenance thanks to a new type
of slide bearing. If necessary, worn out parts can be be replaced by Otto
Bock Service.
3 Liability
Otto Bock Healthcare GmbH, hereafter referred to as manufacturer, as-
sumes liability only if the user complies with the processing, operating and
maintenance instructions as well as the service intervals. The manufacturer
explicitly states that this product may only be used in combination with
components that were authorized by the manufacturer (see instructions for
use and catalogs). The manufacturer does not assume liability for damage
caused by component combinations which it did not authorize.
The product may only be opened and repaired by authorized Otto Bock
technicians.
4 CE conformity
This product meets the requirements of the 93/42/EWG guidelines for medical
products. This product has been classified as a class I product according
to the classification criteria outlined in appendix IX of the guidelines. The
declaration of conformity was therefore created by Otto Bock with sole
responsibility according to appendix VII of the guidelines.
