Voltage reducing device
Only machine variants with the (VRD/SVRD/AUS/RU) code are equipped with a voltage reduction device
(VRD). The VRD is used for increased safety, especially in hazardous environments such as shipbuilding,
pipe construction or mining.
A VRD is mandatory in some countries and required by many on-site safety instructions for power
sources.
The VRD > see 4.2 chapter signal light is illuminated when the voltage reduction device is operating wit-
hout fault and the output voltage is reduced to a value specified in the relevant standard (see technical
data > see 8 chapter).

Remote control
The remote controls are operated on the 19-pole remote control connection socket (analogue).

Power-saving mode (Standby)
You can activate the power-saving mode by either pressing the push-button > see 4.2 chapter for a pro-
longed time or by setting a parameter in the machine configuration menu (time-controlled power-saving
mode
) > see 5.9 chapter.
When power-saving mode is activated, the machine displays show the horizontal digit in the
centre of the display only.
Pressing any operating element (e.g. turning a rotary knob) deactivates power-saving mode and the ma-
chine is ready for welding again.
