Replace the case gasket taking care that is is placed in the groove evenly and that it is located

correctly around holes and pins. The interface with the tube gasket is critical

Reconnect the FFC connecting the main module and the display module. See Using flat flexible
circuit (FFC) cables and connectors on page 23.

Close the case. See page 24.

Replacing the tube gasket

Open the case. See page 24.

Remove the main module and FRP tube assembly from the bottom case. See page 28.

Remove the tube gasket by sliding it off the FRP tube.

Slide the new tube gasket back over the FRP tube. Note that it must be orientated as shown in
Figure 5. Make sure that the location lugs are engaged in the holes in the tube.

Refit the main module and FRP tube assembly in the bottom case. See page 28.

Close the case. See page 24.

Replacing the battery

Unscrew the battery compartment cover and remove the battery.

Write the installation date on the new battery with a permanent marker.

Insert the battery with the metal battery terminals inserted first towards the main module.

Replace the battery compartment cover.
5
Check that the stick reader operates and place on charge for 3 hours.
