6.4.3.2 Continuous Dropped Tubes
In the event where the PathFinder 350S drops every tube, or the majority of tubes,
the following checks should be performed.
If the Gripper sensors are not calibrated correctly the PathFinder 350S may not
detect that it has picked up a tube. In this event the PathFinder 350S may pick
tubes from racks and drop them immediately, before trying to pick up the next
tube.
6.4.3.3 Air Pressure is Low
The air pressure is displayed on the front of the Services module. If the air pressure
is correct then the display will be green. If the air pressure is too low or too high
then the display will be red. It is likely that if the display is red then the compressor
will also be running.
If the compressor runs for more than 5 minutes and air pressure hasn't been
restored to normal, remove the air line between the Services Module and the Sorter.
Auxiliary air can be connected to the services module from the building or a bottle
supply via the Auxiliary Air input. This will allow the PathFinder 350S to continue
running. See Section 7.1.1.
6.4.3.4 Compressor Does Not Run
When the Services Module and the Sorter are both powered on, the compressor
should run whenever the internal Air Tank pressure drops too low.
If the Services module shows no pressure output, and the compressor is not running,
then there is a fault either with the Services Module or the compressor enable signal
from the Sorter.
1. Unplug all cables from the front of the Services Module.
Rev E February 2010
Check the Gripper Finger cots are not worn, replace if necessary.
Check the air pressure is within tolerance. The Services Module pressure
readout will be green.
If these are correct, recalibrate the grippers.
If pressure is restored, there is a leak in the air lines downstream from the
Services module. Trace the air line while looking for leaks at the connectors
are splits in the tubing.
If removing the air line does not fix the problem then turn off the Services
Module and trace the services pneumatic circuit by following Section
3.5.1.1. If the pneumatic components are OK, then replace the piston cup
seal in the compressor, see Section 7.1.2.
