Using the telephone

International calls

The services provided by your network op-
erator allow you to place mobile phone calls
in your own country.
Using the international GSM standard it is
possible to place phone calls to parties in
many countries of the world (either mobile
or stationary).
In order to do this, the network operators
concerned must have made a roaming
agreement. Your network operator must also
activate international roaming for your SIM
card.
Your network operator can provide you with
a currently valid list of the network opera-
tors (network code and name) and the dif-
ferent rates which apply.
Note:
If you want to make international calls, be
sure to contact your network operator well
ahead of time.
What to do before leaving for a foreign
country
1. Have your network operator activate
your SIM card for roaming.
2. Take a look at the list of networks. In
many areas you can choose from
among several different network oper-
ators.

network name.
The foreign network operators must be
registered. Refer to Programming with
DSC – Calls
"Network selection" in the directions for
using the telephone.
3. Activate call forwarding from the sta-
tionary telephone (at home, at the of-
fice) to the Radiophone, if applicable.
How to place telephone calls in foreign

code:

City area code:
05121
Teleph. number:
49 . . . . Blaupunkt
You enter:
+49512149 . . . .
Tip:
Enter the country access code for all of the
telephone numbers you save in the memo-
ry.

How to receive calls

Callers from your home country merely dial
the usual number for your mobile phone.
Callers who are not located in your home
country dial the country access code for your
home country, even if you are currently lo-
cated in another country.
How to place calls to a stationary tele-
phone in the host country
Dial the city area code and the party's tele-
phone number.
You needn't dial the country access code
because your Radiophone has registered in
the foreign network.
