Engine belt broken

Excessive dirt on cooling
system
Blocked cooling air flow
Fan on radiator or radiator cap

Thermostat defective
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Low engine oil level. (low
engine oil pressure warning
light should illuminate)
Lubrication system leak
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Speed of alternator too low
Not charging due to defective
alternator or regulator
SOLUTION
Check oil level. Replenish oil as
necessary
Call for service to correct fault
Check coolant level. Replenish
coolant as necessary
Clean the cooling fins
Call for service to correct fault
Replace defective component
Check thermostat. Replace if
defective
SOLUTION
Fill oil level to dipstick mark
Stop engine and check for
leaks. Tighten any loose fittings
on the system oil lines
SOLUTION
Check V-belt tension, change
belt if required
Call for service to correct fault
