MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
3. Ensure that safety element (1, Figure 5-4) is secure and clean the inside of the
filter housing (2, Figure 5-3) with compressed air.
Clean the Primary Air Cleaner Element
When using compressed air, water jets, or steam cleaning methods,
ensure that appropriate protective clothing is worn to protect eyes and
exposed parts of the body.
Excessive air pressure can damage the primary air element.
Pressure should not exceed 276 kPa bar (40 psi).
NOTE: No attempt should be made to clean the safety element. For
maximum engine protection, replace the safety element every third
primary element change or annually.
