Installation - Union ends with insert:
CAUTION
Damage to the valve actuator or valve
body!
Adhere to good welding practices!

CAUTION
Damage to the valve body!
Only use solvent cement suitable for

the valve body.
The solvent cement is not included
in the scope of delivery!
1. Screw the threaded connections into
the piping in accordance with valid
standards.
2. Unscrew union nut 1 from valve body 2.
3. Reinsert O-ring 3 if necessary.

4. Push the union nut 1 over the piping 4.
Connect the insert 5 with the piping 4 by
cementing / welding.
5. Screw the union nut 1 to the valve body 2
again.
6. Connect the other side of the valve
body 2 to the piping 4, too.

After the installation:

Service and maintenance:
Diaphragms degrade in the course
of time. After valve disassembly /
assembly check that the bolts 18
and nuts 20 on the body are tight
and retighten as necessary.
Reactivate all safety and protective

devices.

Operation and adjustments

Electric shock by dangerous voltage!
Adjustments are made with the actuator
®
cover removed and while the unit is
connected to the power supply. Electric
shock can cause severe burns and fatal
injury. Therefore, refer all adjustments
to qualified electricians.
The GEMÜ 693 / 698 motorized valves are
supplied in the "OPEN" position.
Adding a GEMÜ 1283 controller allows
plant-specific adjustment and setting
of parameters. Please refer to the
installation, operating and maintenance
instructions for the GEMÜ 1283.
Setting the actuator
1. Setting the CLOSED limit switch:
(Prerequisite: valve body and diaphragm are
already mounted.)
Unscrew the actuator cover bolts (with

5 mm flat head screw driver) and remove
both.
Loosen the limit switch fixing screws 5,
G
but do not remove them (Philips head
PH 1).
