Stopping the engine

 Continuously variable transmission
1 Stop the vehicle.
2 Set the parking brake (P. 249), and shift the shift lever to P.

Press the engine switch.
4 Vehicles with drive monitor display: Release the brake pedal and
check that the smart entry & start system indicator light (green) is
off.
Vehicles with multi-information display: Release the brake pedal
and check that "ACCESSORY" or "IGNITION ON" on the multi-
information display is off.
Manual transmission


2 Shift the shift lever to N.

4 Press the engine switch.
5 Vehicles with a drive monitor display: Release the clutch pedal and
check that the smart entry & start system indicator light (green) is
off.
Vehicles with a multi-information display: Release the clutch pedal
and check that "ACCESSORY" or "IGNITION ON" on the multi-
information display is off.
