Turning on the power

The method for turning on the power is explained below.
Data destruction
Turn on the power to the console terminal (connected to a serial port) after turning
on the power to the main unit. If the console terminal is turned on before turning on
the main unit, and the mode switch is set to UNLOCK or MAINTENANCE, a Break
signal may cause the destruction of data by changing the state of the machine to
OBP (ok prompt) during the Solaris Operating Environment operation.
4If the main unit employs software for automatic power control and the mode
switch is set to UNLOCK or LOCK, turning on the circuit breaker may
automatically turn on the power. To prevent this occurence, set the mode switch
to MAINTENANCE before turning on or off the circuit breaker.
• Procedure

Turn on the power by pushing up the circuit breakers.
Note: This switch is only provided if a redundant power supply or dual power feed
option is installed.

Turn on the power to the console terminal and peripheral units.
