provided with thisproduct. It isdesigned to be connected to a compatible mod-
ular jackthat isalso compliant. See installation instructionsfor details.
Ringer Equivalence Number (REN)
The REN isused to determine the number of devicesthat maybe connected to a
telephone line. Excessive RENs on a telephone line mayresult in the devicesnot
ringing in response to an incoming call.
In most but not allareas, the sumof RENsshould not exceed five (5.0). To be cer-
tain of the number of devices that may be connected to a line, asdetermined by
the total RENs, contact the local Telephone Company. For productsapproved
after July 23, 2001, the REN for this product is part of the product identifier that
hasthe format. US: AAAEQ##TXXXX. The digits represented by## are the REN
without a decimalpoint (e.g., 03 isa REN of 0.3). For earlier products, the REN is
separatelyshown on the label.
Incidence of Harm
If this equipment 3G401CF causes harm to the telephone network, the tele-
phone companywill notifyyou in advance that temporary discontinuance of ser-
vice may be required. But if advance notice is not practical, the Telephone
Companywillnotifythe customer assoon as possible. Also, you willbe advised of
your right to file a complaint with the FCC if you believe it isnecessary.
Changes in Telephone Company Equipment or Facilities
The Telephone Company may make changes in its facilities, equipment, oper-

installing the RJ-31Xjackand alarmdialling equipment for you.

viation, IC, before the registration number signifies that registration was

Warranty

DigitalSecurityControlswarrantsthe originalpurchaser that for a period of twelve
monthsfromthe date of purchase, the product shallbe free of defectsin mater-
ials and workmanship under normal use. During the warranty period, Digital
SecurityControlsshall, at its option, repair or replace anydefective product upon
return of the product to its factory, at no charge for labour and materials. Any
replacement and/or repaired parts are warranted for the remainder of the ori-
ginal warranty or ninety (90) days, whichever is longer. The original purchaser
must promptlynotifyDigitalSecurityControlsin writing that there isdefect in mater-
ialor workmanship, such written notice to be received in all eventsprior to expir-
ation of the warranty period. There is absolutelyno warrantyon software and all
software products are sold as a user license under the terms of the software
license agreement included with the product. The Customer assumesallrespons-
ibility for the proper selection, installation, operation and maintenance of any
products purchased from DSC. Custom products are only warranted to the
extent that theydo not function upon delivery. In such cases, DSC can replace or
credit at itsoption.
International Warranty
The warranty for international customers isthe same asfor any customer within
Canada and the United States, with the exception that Digital SecurityControls
shallnot be responsible for anycustomsfees, taxes, or VAT that maybe due.
Warranty Procedure
To obtain service under this warranty, please return the item(s) in question to the
point of purchase. All authorized distributors and dealers have a warranty pro-
gram. Anyone returning goods to Digital Security Controls must first obtain an
authorization number. DigitalSecurityControlswillnot accept anyshipment what-
soever for which prior authorization hasnot been obtained.
