Instructions for safety

To reduce the risk of ignition of a flammable or explosive atmosphere,
stricly adhere to the following Caution and Warning statements:
WARNING

Do not change batteries in hazardous locations!
Do not charge batteries in hazardous locations!
Charge battery pack type HBT 00xx or HBT 01xx only with
Dräger charger specified for this purpose. Charge NiMH cells
for battery holder ABT 01xx only per battery manufactures
specification. Ambient conditions during charging: 0 to
+40 °C.
Do not mix new batteries with used batteries, or mix batteries
of different type or manufacturer.
Remove batteries before servicing.
Substitution of components may impair Intrinsic Safety.
Use only battery packs type ABT 01xx, HBT 00xx or HBT
01xx. See marking on battery pack for approved batteries and
related Temperature Code.
Not tested in oxygen enriched atmospheres (>21 % O
High off scale readings may indicate an explosive concentra-
tion.
Dräger X-am 2500
For CSA (Canadian Standards Association) applications observe
the following:
Only the combustible gas detection portion of this instrument has been
assessed for performance. The instrument is not classified by CSA for
use in mines.

Before each day's usage sensitivity must be tested on a
known concentration of the gas to be detected equivalent to
25 - 50 % of full scale concentration. Accuracy must be within
0 to +20 % of actual. Accuracy may be corrected by calibrati-
on.
