G Warning!
Do not adjust the limiting ring, as otherwise
there could be contact with other
components or with the tires and these
could be damaged. This could lead to an
accident and severe or even fatal injury to
yourself or others.

Remove the relevant wheel.

Take the 2-mm hex key and the hook
wrench from the vehicle tool kit
(
Y
page 202).

Loosen thread locking pin
in the spring

plate by two complete turns using the 2-
mm hex key.
!
Clean the adjustment ring thread above
and below the adjustment ring using
compressed air. Otherwise the thread
could be damaged by dirt when adjusting.
Do not use brushes when cleaning, as
otherwise the coating of the adjusting ring
will be damaged.

In order to achieve the desired vehicle
height, turn adjustment ring
2
wrench 4.
When doing this, observe the maximum
adjusting range of adjustment ring 2.

Tighten thread locking pin
again.

The maximum tightening torque of the
thread locking pin is 1 lb-ft (1 Nm). Do not
exceed this tightening torque. Otherwise
the adjusting ring could be damaged.

for information on tested and recommended
rims and tires for summer and winter
operation. They can also offer advice
concerning tire service and purchase.
G Warning!
Replace rims or tires with the same
designation, manufacturer and type as
shown on the original part. For further
information contact an authorized
Mercedes-Benz Center. If incorrectly sized
rims and tires are mounted, the wheel
brakes or suspension components can be
with hook
damaged. Also, the operating clearance of
the wheels and the tires may no longer be
correct.
G Warning!
Worn, old tires can cause accidents. If the
tire tread is worn to minimum tread depth,
or if the tires have sustained damage,
replace them.
When replacing rims, only use genuine
Mercedes-Benz wheel bolts specified for
the particular rim type. Failure to do so can
